How to integrate Gmail with ClickUp directly
The only things you’ll need are:
• A Gmail account
• A ClickUp account
• The Google Chrome extension
To start the integration of ClickUp with Gmail, you need to complete the following steps:
Begin by downloading the latest version of ClickUp on your phone, or computer as an extension. Create and sign in to your ClickUp account on your phone or computer. After which, add ClickUp as an extension on your computer.
Make sure to sign with an existing Gmail account
A confirmation mail will be sent to you with a number to verify your ClickUp account (Figure B). If you don’t have a Gmail account, you can sign up for one easily.
Go to your Gmail inbox and click the ClickUp logo in an email of your choice.
Launch the ClickUp extension. This will open the ClickUp extension for you to create tasks, lists and more.
If for instance, you have more than one Gmail account; ensure you select the one you wish to integrate with ClickUp in the drop-down menu. Click on the Settings button in your Gmail account.
When the Chrome extension opens, you have two choices: Attaching to the Task and Creating a New Task. Attaching to the task adds your email to the current task as a rich attachment.
At this point, you can view the email, download or even read it, and the subject you used for your email will be the name the attachment will bear.
To create a new task, you have to make your email a new task attachment. Before creation, you can change the task name, but by default, it will be the subject you use for your email.
As an attachment, your email will be included in the newly generated task. You can preview it, download it or open it directly from ClickUp.
After downloading the ClickUp extension, carefully check that you toggle the Email Feature settings, and if its logo does not appear in your email, go to the settings tab, and click on the Integrations tab, and then on the email button shown back.
Sending emails on ClickUp using Gmail integration
To start with, click on the email button (the small envelope) within your taskbar and close to the comment tab.

In the from tab, select Link an Email from the drop-down options.
Sign in to your Gmail account. To do this, select Email ClickApp and sign in with your desired email account. In this case, you have to click on the “Sign In With Google” button.
Once you select your desired email account, there will appear a pop-up window, asking you to grant ClickApp access to your account. To grant ClickUp to access your Google Account, just click on the “Allow” button to continue.
At this point, you are to choose who can have access to the email and its features.
Choose those who would be able to send emails from the account generate signatures and create email templates. Click on “Done” to start sending e-mails from ClickUp.
This will open another page where you will compose and send your emails. At this point, type in the email address of the person you want to email, type a subject, and key in your desired messages. When you are done, click on the send button to send your email.
Disabling Gmail integration in ClickUp
You can also disable ClickUp’s Gmail integration. To do this, navigate to the settings button in the ClickUp Chrome extension, and click on the delete button, as shown in the screenshot below.
In the event that you want to confirm that you want to remove your email, click on the remove email button.
Recall that for the sake of security and safety, when you delete your Gmail account, the whole Workspace also gets deleted. This action negatively affects your using ClickUp to send emails, integrate your Google Calendar and share documents from Google Drive. If you want to keep using these services, you must have to re-add your Gmail.
